Russia WILL invade Lithuania' Leaders tell people to prepare for guerrilla war on streets

LITHUANIA is preparing for an imminent all out attack by Russia.
The Lithuanian government is so alarmed it has printed a mass-circulation pamphlet advising citizens on how best to strike back at a Russian occupying force with lightning guerrilla war tactics.
The 75-page guide, which has been distributed to 30,000 people, explains how to become an insurgent if Putin's forces attack the country from the East.
Tiny Lithuania would offer almost no battlefield resistance to Putin aggression - the only way for citizens to react would be a long drawn-out insurgency.
It is unknown how NATO might respond but experts believe Russian president Vladimir Putin is more than capable of gambling the west would not react militarily - which has led to the Lithuaniain government taking precautions.
The guide offers citizens advice on how to defend themselves with practical advice telling them to dress warm, pack condoms and hide.
The manual says: "It is important that civilians have the will the resist, this will make it more difficult for the aggressor country to feel comfortable."
Those capable of waging undercover combat are told to wear a balaclava and layers of clothing to deal with the cold and use the sun to tell the time as well as make a homemade battery out of household items.

The government-issued guide explains that Lithuanians should carry condoms, energy bars and wet wipes with them at all times in case they find themselves hiding in a forest.
It goes on to explain how Russia could take over the former Soviet state by infiltrating the media and winning over Russian sympathisers before full-scale invasion.

The guide, distributed to thousands living in the Baltic state, even tells Lithuanians how to identify Russian military vehicles - explaining the difference between T-90 tanks and BMD-4 amphibious infantry carriers as well as listing dozens of different guns, mines and shells currently being used by the Russian army.
And it advises citizens of the country, with has a population of three million, how to treat serious war injuries including pelvic injuries and how to avoid dying of dehydration.
Lithuanian leaders are growing increasingly concerned about Russian aggression since the invasion of Ukraine an annexing of Crimea two years ago. The manual is the third publication issued by the state to its citizens advising them on what to do if war breaks out with the superpower.
Lithuania's Defence Minister Juozas Olekas said that guide has been issued "to show that anyone who decides to cross into our borders will encounter resistance."
The Lithuanian government describes Russia's take over of the state during the Cold War as "illegal annexation". It was liberated in 1990 and was the first Soviet republic to declare its independence.
The guide comes amidst growing tension between the West states and Russia. A recent report from an American research foundation said that in the event of war it would take Russia no more than 60 hours to overwhelm the three Baltic states.

Breaking: Putin Just Gave Obama 24H or His Ships Will Open FIRE

Russia and the United States have never been allies. One easily remembers how tense and long-lasting the Cold War was, and it left Russia very angry that they suffered such a demoralizing defeat as a world power.
While the United States should not become Vladimir Putin’s best friend, we also have to realize that Russia is a super power in this world and we must take them seriously.
Hillary and Obama dislike Putin because he only answers to strength and toughness, which is exactly why it is evident he likes Donald Trump.
As a way to project strength, Obama and Hillary continue to call Putin every name in the book while blaming him for cyber attacks and WikiLeaks.
On Friday, October 21, Putin issued a global message that if Hillary Clinton and Barrack Obama continue to slander Russia, he was going to shoot down U.S. jets in the Middle East and begin to prepare for World War III.
But now, As of Sunday, October 23, Putin has ordered the Russian Defense Ministry to begin training and managing all local authorities, law enforcement, and state security as they are preparing for a nuclear war with the United States.
And with the United States at the eve of war, Hillary Clinton has spent the last two days blaming Putin and Russia for WikiLeaks and continues to call him a “thug puppet.”
Moscow is sending a blunt message to Obama and Hillary by purposefully stationing dozens of large aircraft carriers to conduct operations in Syria. On top of that, Putin is set to deploy more Russian spy ships to survey underwater internet cables in the region, as well.
This move originally began as the U.S. and Russia continued to disagree over Syria, but not it has become the first step into World War III.
Putin has told Obama that if he does not begin to cooperate and allow Russia to help, he will begin to shoot down American jets as well as aim his missiles towards the United States.
This has nothing to do with whether or not Russia could defeat the United States. This is a result of Obama and Hillary risking war with Russia just because they want to blame Putin for WikiLeaks rather than take blame for their leaked emails.
As we all recall, Hillary Clinton sold Russia 20 percent of our uranium a few years ago in exchange for $145,000,000 to the Clinton Foundation. So if Russia did not possess enough uranium to bolster their nuclear arsenal then, they have been sufficiently equipped thanks to Hillary Clinton.
No, Russia cannot defeat the United States, but why not attempt to make the relationship better? Donald Trump has openly stated he will work with Russia to eliminate ISIS from the Middle East. According to Hillary and Democrats, that is a terrible idea.
Vladimir Putin will continue to take precautions for nuclear war with the United States because they know if Hillary Clinton wins this election, she will engage in warlike conflicts. As Secretary of State, she created wars in Libya, Syria, and Iran while also creating ISIS.
Who can blame Russia for taking precautions? If a President Clinton scares Russia so badly that they are preparing their entire country for nuclear war, imagine how scared we should be as Americans.

Singer Janet Jackson was this week spotted in public for the first time since announcing her pregnancy – wearing full Islamic dress.

The star is believed to have become a Muslim after marrying Qatari billionaire Wissam Al Manna, 41, in 2012.

Our exclusive pictures show the couple looking relaxed and happy as they shopped in London earlier this week.

The pair strolled hand in hand as Janet – who will become a mum for the first time later this year at the age of 50 – stroked her growing bump.

They were spotted browsing for children’s clothes at an upmarket boutique before stopping for lunch at a health food restaurant.
Janet Jackson and her husband Wissam Al Manna look very much in love

Janet, who has sold over 100 million records, is widely regarded as one of the most successful female solo artists of all time.
She was married twice before meeting her magnate husband.

Speculation that the star was expecting first surfaced in April this year, when she postponed her upcoming tour.

Jonathan to Buhari : You cannot say Sambo Dasuki stole $2.2billion It is not just possible

Jonathan to Buhari : You cannot say Sambo Dasuki stole $2.2billion It is not just possible
Published by Family Writers

Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday said it was impossible for the National Security Adviser (NSA) during his administration, Sambo Dasuki, to have stolen $2.2 billion as claimed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Mr. Dasuki, who has been in detention since December 1, 2015, was arrested by the State Security Service for allegedly misappropriating $2.2 billion meant to purchase equipment for the Nigerian military in its battle against the terrorist Boko Haram group.

A Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja, last Friday granted an application by the EFCC to consolidate two separate cases against the former army Colonel.
A statement by the anti-graft commission said Mr. Dasuki would be re-arraigned on November 16.

Mr. Jonathan, who spoke at the famous Oxford Union, Oxford United Kingdom, on youth entrepreneurship, argued that it was “not just possible” for Mr. Dasuki to have stolen $2.2 billion after his administration procured several equipment for the country’s military.

“They said the National Security Adviser stole $2.2billion. I don’t believe somebody can just steal $2.2 billion. We bought warships, we bought aircraft, we bought lots of weapons for the army and so on and so forth and you are still saying 2.2 billion, so where did we get the money to buy all those things?” he asked while responding to a question about the alleged missing arms procurement fund now referred to as Dasukigate by the Nigerian media.

While admitting that corruption was an issue during his administration, the former president said some of the allegations were “exaggerated”.

“Yes, there were some issues; yes, there are still corruption issues; but some of it were blown, I’d say exaggerated, and they give a very bad impression about our nation. You cannot say the national security adviser stole $2.2billion. It is not just possible,” he said.

This is kind of people United Kindom put us together: Fayose playing with fire – Miyetti Allah warns over killing of cows

Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigerian (MACBAN) on Saturday said its attention has been drawn to the “unscrupulous action of Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State against our members who are bona fide citizens of the country.”
A statement by its spokesman, Baba Othman Ngelzarma, recalled that Fayose on Thursdayinaugurated a vigilante group, Ekiti Grazing Enforcement Marshals (EGEM), popularly called ‘Anti-malu’ “in furtherance of his threat to banish our members from Ekiti State”.
It said Fayose unleashed the marshals “against our members whose herds of cattle had gone to a stream at Agon Bridge on Federal Polytechnic road between the time of 2:00 – 2:30 PM to quench their thirst on Friday 21st October 2016”.
Continuing, the statement sent to DAILY POST reads: “We have been reliably alerted an impeccable source in Ado- Ekiti that the Anti-maul vigilante group shot five cows and carted away with the meat but the herdsman was able to flee with the rest of his cattle.
“We are hereby constrained to implore the federal government through its security agencies to wade into this unprovoked and primitive aggression against our members, before this macabre incident develops into unquenchable inferno involving our members and Ekiti State government.
“No Cattle strayed into anybody’s farmland around that area in question. As such, the actions of the Anti-malu vigilante are not ant only provoking, but capable of creating uncontrollable scenarios whose ramification may go well beyond Ekiti State.
As far as we know , Ekiti State is not an island of its own , but a State within the federal Republic of Nigeria and while the Governor is permitted to carry out actions geared towards protecting the interest of Ekiti State, such actions should follow the rule of law

We deplore this act of brigandage and call on Governor Ayodele Fayose to offer an unreserved apology to MACBAN, and equally set machinery in motion with a view to compensate our members who lost five cows in this primitive adventure.
“That the brutality of the Ekiti Grazing enforcement marshals (popularly known as Anti- malu) on herdsmen is even outside the time stipulated by that law (if the law exists at all).
“The federal overnment should therefore look into the actions and activities of this committee because we cannot fold our hands while the only means of survival of our members is taken away and destroyed.
“MACBAN has instructed victims of this aggression and its members nationwide to exercise maximum restrain while we work towards resolving this unfortunate incident through mature and civilized manners.
MACBAN further sympathized with the government of Kaduna State, Sokapu and entire Kaduna South inhabitants over the recent incident that had claimed so many lives as a result of a discord between our members and communities surrounding Godogodo environ.
“We see this act as an upsolute brutality exhibited by the perpetrators and condemnable in all its ramifications. We call on the security to do all it could to fish out and bring these criminals to book.”

Meanwhile, The Intelligence Officer Prince Alwaleed of the Miyetti Allah Cattle breeders Association, Sokoto State Chapter, Alhaji Muhammadu Magaji, has warned its members not to graze Their livestock on farm lands .

What a good write up by Oduche Azih: Are Yorubas afraid of Biafra?

Since Ken Okomma posed his question, WHY ARE YORUBAS AFRAID OF BIAFRA? a few weeks ago, I have been analyzing that issue from a number of perspectives. Most importantly I patiently awaited the response of my Yoruba friends to enable me compare and contrast with my own personal observations and my own reading of the conclusions drawn by Okomma himself.
The real question that should be on the minds of anyone keen on honestly building up our polity and/or resolving issues along the many gaping faultlines, is this. ARE YORUBAS REALLY AFRAID OF BIAFRA? I do not think so.

Many of our Yoruba compatriots actually believed the much publicised assertion by Dr Femi Aribisala that NIGERIA CANNOT SURVIVE WITHOUT THE IGBO, long before he brought this opinion into the public domain. While he is obviously not alone, it is worthy of note that this opinion is neither necessarily true nor inevitable. Economically the South-West should be able to survive, and even thrive with or without Ndigbo. Most other observers are smart enough to come to their own independent conclusions.
The average Yoruba elite stands toe to toe with his Igbo colleague and is not exactly scared of competition. The true stories of Dr Eni Njoku, etc, when retold, only helps to muddy up the waters some more. We can however overcome all that baggage. Even with decades long institutionalized disadvantages in the aftermath of the Nigeria-Biafra War, Ndigbo trudged along, asking for no favours but demanding only a level playing field. We have the example of Dr Alex Ekwueme recently telling the story of his experiences in his own words.
For Ndigbo to advance or keep advancing, you do not need to take anything away from the Yoruba. Most enlightened Yoruba know this. ‎However the rabblerousers would want us to believe otherwise, that it must be a zero sum relationship. Aribisala’s warning in this regard is quite clear. Writer Chuks Iloegbunam has equally addressed this fallacy.
It is important to note that the vile and uncouth elements, who spew venom whenever Biafra and/or restructuring is mentioned, constitute but a very tiny minority of the important voices in Yorubaland. The tragedy however is that these few individuals reside full time on the social media platforms, fully occupy them, and create the impression that the Igbo and Yoruba, contrary to all visible indicators, are engaged in an all out war and are at each other’s throats. Nothing could be further from the truth.
It is exactly because of such characters, and the similarly worded response from the justifiably angry Igbo youth of identical pedigree, that Dr Femi Aribisala wrote again a few months ago calling for a truce.‎ He didn’t need to appeal to the majority of the elite. They know better. What is lacking is their readiness to get into the fray and routinely and frequently come public with their convictions.

Some anti-Biafra commentators often couch their opposition by advising Igbo youth and agitators to follow socalled official procedures. ‎Which procedures, I ask? In a country(?) that has no constitution that we can call our own? President Buhari has gone out of his way to announce in far away New York that he would never allow a referendum on the Biafra demand. The man is so limited that he does not realise that the matter is not exactly up to him. The country is going over a cliff and he is busy clutching at non-issues such as his personal likes and dislikes. That’s part of the problem. How I wish our president has both the intellect and temperament to follow the latest contribution to the Biafran debate by world renowned constitutional lawyer Prof Ben Nwabueze.
The persistent systemic dysfunction and distrust makes even talking to ourselves extremely difficult. That is why people offer opinions on the social media, under the cloak of anonymity. Many like me will never give an opinion that we will not be ready to defend, modify or clarify in public among peers, over beer or whatever. That is why my name is signed on every opinion that I express. Operating in that mode, I can hardly be expected to offer gratuitous insult to anyone, no matter how much I disagree with them.
Perception is part of reality. Most of those who have weighed in on Ben Okomma’s article have mostly avoided dealing with his main question. If Biafra is such a bad and unviable proposition, and one is not gaining an unfair advantage from the current arrangement, why does a Yoruba person, (Note that I didn’t say most or typical-o!), find it irresistible to play the devil’s advocate on that issue. One writer confessed that the furthest east he has ever been in present day Nigeria, is Warri. That still did not prevent him from propounding a solid understanding of the geopolitics and economics of Eastern Nigeria. For him Biafra just cannot work. It is this very overt passion on display that is bothering Okomma. He just can’t get it. Neither can I.

Then again, it is quite possible that the fear of a potential downturn in economic prospects in Yorubaland, especially Lagos, without the leavening vibrancy of Igbo participation‎, is scaring the living daylights out of some segments of Yoruba society. The leading lights of Yorubaland cannot claim to be unaware of this potential, and the current faulty sentiments at the lower rungs of Yoruba society. They fully understand the available tools and methodologies for stopping the rush to the brink, even if a peaceful split turns out to be inevitable.

It is now a cliche that Ndigbo are being blackmailed, by those who should know better, into dropping their demand for equity and fairness in the affairs of the Nigeria. Whereas equity is not another name for Biafra, sworn enemies of Ndigbo are giving the impression that they are inextricably bound like two sides of a coin. They are making Nnamdi Kanu’s case for him by insisting on making no accommodation whatsoever for Ndigbo demands. Truly, nobody knows how this whole matter is going to pan out. However, we should all commit to peaceful outcomes, no matter what that outcome is. It does Nigeria no good to spend our time and intellect building case files for the International Criminal Court at The Hague.‎‎ Buhari had better watch out.
Among other things, Ayodele Adeyemi‎ wrote, ‎“A citizen of Biafra will be an illegal alien in Lagos that may not be allowed to own property or do business until his papers are perfected; all previous property and businesses may be reviewed and/or revoked.” Excuse me! On which planet does this youngman live?
‎‎
Ayodele Adeyemi easily gives himself away as an arch opponent of the Biafran dream while valiantly striving to dismiss that notion in subsequent rejoinders. It is doubtful if he succeeded in his effort to feign indifference. It is even surprising that he would endeavour to alter the public perception of his position and motives. Why bother? As I will soon elaborate, such a venture as the agitation for Biafra, or Kurdistan for that matter, can never get the support of everybody. Serious minded analysts have fulsomely berated the US and it’s allies for stubbornly hanging onto the concept of a united Iraq at a time the Kurds are exercising all the recognized powers and duties of a sovereign nation. So it is with Biafra.
Ayodele got it wrong when he wrote that to mention Biafra to an Igbo man was equivalent to mentioning the Holocaust, a kind of raw nerve I presume. I believe that that was not his intention. Semantic error and all that. The truth is that Biafra, to all Ndigbo, is like the biblical promised land. Not yet realised.
If Moses had waited for all children of Israel to agree intoto with his leadership, they would still be wandering in the Sinai Desert to this very day. It is on record(?) that a good many of his contemporaries actively undermined him. Comparing that with the experience of Uwazurike or Kanu, one can easily observe once again that nothing is new under the sun. So much for opponents of the Biafran project insisting that ONLY when every Igboman or woman is on board, will they take the agitation serious. Or perhaps when Gov Aminu Masari of Katsina state says that it is ok. Did the Pharaoh ever concede until his hands were forced?
One other point is that most of those who set out from Egypt never made it alive to The Promised Land. Not even Moses himself. Their children did. I point this out to show how unimportant it is if Nnamdi Kanu gets to raise the Biafran flag or gets sworn in as its head of state.
Again when the people of Israel were later taken into captivity to Babylon, their children born in captivity kept hope alive. They found their way back home when the time was ripe. That their parents died and were buried in foreign land did not deter them.
I am not a biblical scholar, but the parallels were too good for me to ignore.
In conclusion, each and every Yoruba elite will have to decide for himself/herself if indeed the independence of Biafra portends a disaster worth averting. The irrational fear expressed by the likes of Ayodele would imply that Biafrans would be trooping home also with our many daughters who are currently happily esconsced in their husbands’ homes in Yorubaland. It will never come to that. Trust me.

Vladimir Putin Just Issued a Warning to the United States ----- By: Darius Shahtahmasebi

As the United States continues to develop and upgrade their nuclear weapons capabilities at an alarming rate, America’s ruling class refuses to heed warnings from President Vladimir Putin that Russia will respond as necessary.

In his most recent attempt to warn his Western counterparts about the impending danger of a new nuclear arms race, Putin told the heads of large foreign companies and business associations that Russia is aware of the United States’ plans for nuclear hegemony. He was speaking at the 20th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
“We know year by year what will happen, and they know that we know,” he said.

Putin argued that the rationale the U.S. previously gave for maintaining and developing its nuclear weapons system is directed at the so-called “Iranian threat.” But that threat has been drastically reduced since the U.S. proved instrumental in reaching an agreement with Iran that should put to rest any possible Iranian nuclear potential.
The Russian president also highlighted the fact that although the United States missile system is referred to as an “anti-missile defense system,” the systems are just as offensive as they are defensive:

“They say [the missile systems] are part of their defense capability, and are not offensive, that these systems are aimed at protecting them from aggression. It’s not true…the strategic ballistic missile defense is part of an offensive strategic capability, [and] functions in conjunction with an aggressive missile strike system.”
This missile system has been launched throughout Europe, and despite American promises at the end of the Cold War that NATO’s expansion would not move “as much as a thumb’s width further to the East,” the missile system has been implemented in many of Russia’s neighboring countries, most recently in Romania.
Russia views this as a direct attack on their security.

“How do we know what’s inside those launchers? All one needs to do is reprogram [the system], which is an absolutely inconspicuous task,” Putin stated.
Putin further explained the implications of this missile defense system’s implementation without any response from Russia. The ability of the missile defense system to render Russia’s nuclear capabilities useless would cause an upset in what Putin refers to as the “strategic balance” of the world. Without this balance of power, the U.S. would be free to pursue their policies throughout the world without any tangible threat from Russia. Therefore, this “strategic balance,” according to Putin, is what has kept the world safe from large-scale wars and military conflicts.
Following George W. Bush’s 2001 decision to unilaterally withdraw the U.S. from the 1972 Antiballistic Missile Treaty, Russia was, according to Putin, left with no choice but to upgrade their capabilities in response.

Putin warned:

“Today Russia has reached significant achievements in this field. We have modernized our missile systems and successfully developed new generations. Not to mention missile defense systems…We must provide security not only for ourselves. It’s important to provide strategic balance in the world, which guarantees peace on the planet.
Under the guise of following an anti-nuclear weapons policy, the Obama administration has announced plans for a $1 trillion nuclear weapons plan, which — let’s face it — is targeted at Russia.
Neutralizing Russia’s nuclear potential will undo, according to Putin, “the mutual threat that has provided [mankind] with global security for decades.”
There is no winner in a nuclear war between Russia and the United States. This has been not only confirmed but repeatedly warned about by atomic scientists who — if we are being honest — are the people whose opinion on this topic should matter the most.
It should, therefore, come as no surprise that NASA scientists want to colonize the moon by 2022— we may have to if we don’t drastically alter the path we are on. As Albert Einstein famously stated:
“I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.”

Ex-minister says EFCC is trying to arrest him on politically motivated charges

Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode made the claim via a statement released on Thursday, October 20.
Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has said that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is planning to re-arrest him.

He made the claim via a statement released on Thursday, October 20. The statement reads in part:

I have been reliably informed by my sources within the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) that they are planning to re-arrest and detain me for as long as possible once again even though I have been granted bail by the Federal High Court in Lagos. Fresh charges were filed against me by the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Abuja on July 7th.”

The allegations border on a baseless allegation and false claim that I received twenty six million naira from the NSA's office in 2014. These are politically-motivated charges and there is no truth in or substance to them whatsoever.
Because of that the matter is now seized of the court yet the EFCC are still planning to arrest me probably at the premises of the Federal High Court in Lagos after I appear there on Friday 21st October to attend my trial on the trumped up and, again, politically-motivated charges concerning the presidential campaign funds.
If they do not arrest me then they will arrest me and seek to detain me for as long as possible soon after that. Whichever way they will come and I am ready for them. I am not running.  The truth is that the EFCC are a ready, willing and able tool in the hands of the hawks and hardliners in the Buhari administration and they are apparently acting on orders.
They are desperate to keep me out of circulation and off the streets and I have been reliably informed that they were ordered to ensure that that is the case by the Presidency. They are also eager to arrest and detain my wife and my 8 month old son just to hurt and spite me even though they have done absolutely NOTHING wrong.
The more evil they do to me, the more the coals of fire will pour on their heads. Also the more the President will continue to fail woefully and have all manner of strange and inexplicable problems. Wickedness and wicked men never last. No matter what they do to me that is my consolation. They are bullies and cowards and they have no shame.
“My only crime is that I have spoken the bitter truth to power and I am very proud of that. That is what God created me to do. It is my calling and I stand by every word that I have ever said about this President and this evil, corrupt and inept government.
This government is vicious, vengeful, inept and toxic and so is their willing tool the EFCC.  As I am in their cells and subjected to their barbaric torture and wicked and inhuman treatment for another period of time I shall continue to pray for Nigeria.”
Fani-Kayode was initially arrested in May after being accused of money laundering by the EFCC.

I got this news from Anyi King I decided to publish it on my Blog: Nigeria is not working =Divide Nigeria Now.

Good luck Jonathan, to solve trump- Clinton election tension comes up 8 November.
This I must let the northerners and westerners, to have as a lesson on what politics is all about.

This GEJ was the same man , America labeled as the most corrupt leader ever In Nigeria, that John Kerry even said to have been the cause of the economic breakdown in Nigeria.

Today, the same America is honoring this man ,to take part in the most dangerous and toughest presidential race in America history.

NOW TO YOU ALL ONE NIGERIA LOVERS, start asking yourself, if American can condemn this man, and still honour him with such opportunity that no man in Africa has taken in America, then why should you keep believing that your one Nigeria won't be divided someday by this same people who has assured you that Nigeria won't be divided?

Wake up and face reality in politics, this why it's called a game! This same America is still on newspaper, praising your president, even when they know the recession facing the nation. Or the UN and RED CROSS that are in the country, offering foods to the IDPs refugees children, is Obama not aware of that?

WAKE UP PLEASE! Start thinking on how to build your Nigeria without biafrans.

Turkish Airlines may suspend flight to Kano

There is disquiet in the aviation industry over the decision of some foreign airlines to reduce their operations in Nigeria.

Emirates Airlines and Kenya Airways announced on Monday that they would suspend flight to Abuja, the nation’s capital effective from October 30 and November 5 respectively.

But sources told Daily Trust yesterday that Turkish Airlines will soon suspend its flight operations to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.

An industry player, however said the airline operators were suspending their flights to Abuja and Kano due to dwindling passenger traffic which has made the routes commercially unviable.

Mr Bernard Bankole, the president of National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA), in a chat with Daily Trust also said apart from the drop in passengers, the runway at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), Abuja “is also faulty which explains why foreign airlines are avoiding it.”

The airlines are being proactive to prevent accident, he added.

According to the NANTA boss, the issue was no longer about foreign airlines being unable to repatriate their funds.

He said: “It is not commercially viable for them in Abuja and that is why they are moving out coupled with our faulty runway.

The runway in Abuja is bad, we have been making so much noise about that and they don’t want to wait till there is an accident. The runway is faulty. Yes it is not commercially viable coupled with faulty runway”.

Bankole pointed out that the development is a bad omen for the nation.

But another aviation professional, Comrade Razaq Saidu, said government should not succumb to threats by foreign airlines to leave the country.

According to him, the current developments in the sector point to the exigency of having a national carrier that would not only compete with the foreign carriers but reciprocate most of the country’s Bilateral Air Service Agreements (BASAs).

Efforts to speak with Turkish Airlines proved abortive as the airline did not respond to the enquiry sent by our correspondent as of the time of filing this report yesterday.

Meanwhile, Emirates Airlines in a statement on Tuesday confirmed it was suspending its flights from Abuja to Dubai with effect from October 30.

WORLD WAR III 'INEVITABLE' Turkey warns there WILL be all-out nuclear war – because nobody can stop America and Russia coming to blows over Syria

Deputy Prime Minister, Numan Kurtulmus said the conflict had put the world "on the brink of the beginning of a large regional or global war
Smoke rises over Damascus after an airstrike led by the regime of President Assad

TURKEY has warned the world will be plunged into global conflict over Syria – with superpowers Russia and the US on opposing sides.

The country’s deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus said the conflict had put the world “on the brink of the beginning of a large regional or global war”.
In an interview he said: “If this proxy war continues, after this, let me be clear, Americaand Russia will come to a point of war.”
US President Barack Obama is backing rebels against Assad regime

Turkey and its Western allies, the US and Britain are calling for Syrian President President Bashar al-Assad to step down.
But Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is a key backer of the Syrian leader.
Tensions between Russia and the US have ratcheted up this week as the US pulled the plugs over talks on Syria and accused Russia of hacking attacks.
US Secretary of State John Kerry last week called for a war crimes investigation after accusing Moscow and the regime of deliberately bombing hospitals as a Russian-backed assault on Aleppo in northern Syria continues.
Relations between the two countries were already at their lowest since the Cold War over the Ukraine conflict, after the Russian annexation of the Crimean Peninsula.
Earlier this month, Moscow said it was suspending joint research with the United States on nuclear energy projects.
In the interview with Turkey’s state-run press agency, Kurtulmus also insisted that Turkish forces at the Bashiqa camp in northern Iraq were “legitimate” and would remain in the country for “as long as necessary”.
But Iraq’s chiefs called Turkey an “occupying” force last week when the Turkish parliament agreed to extend its military operations in Iraq and Syria for a year.
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is throwing his weight behind Syria’s Assad

Turkey has said its forces are training Iraqi fighters to help retake the country’s second biggest city, Mosul, from IS in the near future.
Kurtulmus’s promise came after a bitter war of words between President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday.
Erdogan told Abadi to “know your place” and that the leader was not his equal.
Abadi responded by mocking Erdogan’s plea to the Turkish people to counter the attempted coup in July via a video phone call.
“We will liberate our land through the determination of our men and not by video calls,” Abadi’s official Twitter account said.
